ÅST + understudies - Cosette
Principal: Marika Westerling (Finland) 2010, Emma Frost (Sweden) 2011, Mikaela Tidermark (Sweden) 2011-2012, u/s: Mikaela Tidermark 2010-2011, Amy Nordqvist (Sweden) 2011
The role with most cast changes. Marika Westerling played the part for autumn 2010. She was then replaced by Emma Frost for spring 2011. Mikaela Tidermark was understudy for that time before becoming principal for autumn 2011-winter 2012. Amy Nordqvist was understudy for fall 2011 before leaving the production. I don’t know who the understudy was if there was any for winter 2012.
come to me, cosette, the light is fading // don’t you see the evening star appearing // come to me and rest against my shoulder // how fast the minutes fly away and every minute colder
how strange, this feeling that my life’s begun at last // what a life i might have known!

Lauren Wiley as Cosette on the 25th Anniversary US Tour
Aaaaand I’m getting more used to this tablet thing now. Flat colors but, whatever. I tried doing Cosette but she ended up looking like Belle, I think?
Whatever, Cosette is a Disney princess anyway.
modern au: fantine raises cosette as a single mother. she moves from job to job, working as a seamstress, then a waitress, a receptionist, whatever is available, in order to provide for her daughter. they live simply, but happily. some years are harder than others, and fantine will find herself hand-making cosette her birthday or christmas gifts - mittens and scarves and sweaters that her daughter wears to school with pride. one day fantine begins working at a local florist’s shop. she spends years there, the longest she’s held any job, and falls in love with the work. she’s good at it too - a real eye for color, design, and texture. when the owner retires, she offers fantine a partnership. all fantine has ever wanted in life was her baby girl at her side and a cozy apartment to call their own, but now she has a future in her hands to work with.
